2 Voluntary Recall First Edition Jackets & Trousers

2.1 Why is there a voluntary recall for the First Edition Jacket and Trousers?

We have discovered that the First Edition Jacket and Trousers, don’t meet the waterproofness that we expect from our sailing clothing.

The reduced water resistance is the result of a combination of poorly applied waterproof seam tape, an incorrect attachment of the lining in the jacket, and an incorrect construction of the crotch in the trousers. Which can cause “leakage” on the seams and the crotch area.

Even though there are only some known complaints regarding the waterproofness of the sailing clothing, the repair, and sale of First Edition sailing clothing has been stopped immediately.

2.2 How did you find out of the defaults?

While performing repairs on a couple of items we discovered production errors that negatively affected the waterproofness of the sail clothing. The production errors weren’t known to us before despite the waterproofness tests of the jacket and trousers conducted on our behalf.

2.3 What does the Voluntary Recall mean for my First Edtion sail clothing items?

We would like to resolve this unpleasant situation in the best possible way, with your right to a good product in accordance with the legal warranty you have as a consumer. As a consumer you are entitled to a good product and if that product does not meet expectations, such as leaking sailing clothing, you are entitled to a repair, replacement, discount for a defective product, or refund in proportion to life expectancy.

Because repair of the First Edition sailing clothing is not possible, we cannot offer you a repair or replacement product. We can offer you an option for a discount on your purchase or the option of a refund of your purchase.

Recall options

Option 1; You keep your Nohaca sailing clothing in its current condition and, regardless of the age of the sailing clothing, you will receive a 50% discount compared to the recommended retail price of € 325 for a sailing jacket and € 265 for sailing trousers.

So you will be refunded the difference between your purchase amount and € 162.50 for the jacket and € 132.50 for the trousers.

Option 2; You return your sailing clothing to us and you will receive a refund in proportion to the life expectancy of 5 years. This means;

When purchasing in 2021, 60% of your purchase amount will be refunded

If you purchase in 2022, 80% of your purchase amount will be refunded

If you purchase in 2023, 100% of your purchase amount will be refunded

2.4 How does voluntary recall work?

To register yourself for the voluntary recall, please register before 1 november 2023 using this form. After your registration, we will contact you asap.
